Hi there! My name’s Jessica and I’m a relatively funny person

As a writer, storyteller, performer and overall human being I find that humor is generally how I communicate with the world

When I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June 2017–something that was a sharp and unexpected left turn in life–I began making jokes about it, trying very hard to find the funny in the not-so-funny business of what was happening

As humor is such an important part of my life and something I’ve frequently utilized as navigation and coping technique, I decided I wanted to delve deeper into the ins & outs of the funny

This project looks to further explore the idea of jokes & puns & witticisms & all things absurd & funny & humorous being used as tools and skills for social interaction and communication, positively contributing to the mental & physical health and overall sense of wellbeing for all folks on this planet
